STARLING RESOURCESStarling Resources maintains an office in Sanur, Bali, Indonesia, and is staffed by a group of community development experts, business consultants, and natural resource management specialists, who share a commitment to developing practical, effective, long term solutions leading to sustainable natural resource use.

1. PROJECT ASSOCIATE

Starling Resources seeks to fill a 12 month appointment in its Bali, Indonesia office. The focus of this appointment will be to support our growing work analyzing natural resource use and conservation policies, and designing and analyzing financial models and strategic plans to facilitate the success of sustainable solutions related to natural resource use. Some travel to remote areas throughout SE Asia may be required. Intensive previous exposure to operational or project finance, management consulting, or policy design and analysis required. Also, experience with and / or interest in conservation, sustainable development or natural resource management is important.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS. The successful applicant will have the following minimum qualifications :

  • A Bachelor of Art/Science degree - or higher - from a major university, preferably in a field related to policy,  economics or finance, requiring complex analytical/quantitative methods and skills;
  • Proficient in both English and Bahasa Indonesia;
  • At least two years experience as an analyst/associate with a major management consultancy, multilateral institution, investment bank or venture capital firm;
  • Strong quantitative, writing, presentation, and project management skills;
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and multi-task;
  • Willingness/ability to live in Bali and travel to various areas of Indonesia and SE Asia;
  • Experience in SE Asia/Indonesia useful; and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.


2.  RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Starling Resources seeks to fill a 12 month appointment in its Bali, Indonesia office.  The focus of this appointment will be to support our management and project staff on our project assignments. The research associate will be responsible for conducting research in areas of: natural resource use policies, economics, and industries; government systems and regulations; conservation practices, financing, programs and strategies; and general project data analysis and research requirements.

Some travel to remote areas throughout SE Asia may be required. Previous experience conducting research and analysis and supporting project work with private sector, consulting firms, or institutions/NGOs required. Also, experience with and / or interest in conservation, sustainable development or natural resource management is important.

Required Qualifications :  The successful applicant will have the following minimum qualifications :
  • A Bachelor of Art/Science degree, preferably in a field related to policy, economics or finance, requiring complex analytical/quantitative methods and skills;
  • Proficient in both English and Bahasa Indonesia;
  • At least two years experience supporting teams in the private sector or institutions;
  • Attention to detail and research and writing skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and multi-task,
  • Willingness/ability to live in Bali and travel to various areas of Indonesia and SE Asia;
  • Experience in SE Asia/Indonesia useful; and
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.


TERM: Minimum 12 month contract (renewable upon performance and mutual agreement)
SALARY : Compensation will be at competitive rates.
